The airplane was invented by Santos Dumont in Paris.
The first attempt to fly was made on August 21st in 1906 with no success.
But on September 13th with his 14bis the first successful flight finally happened.

Karlos: If my mother were the President, I would ask her to help everybody and
principal(ly) forbide reelections and to take for (to) prison all corrupt
politicians. And I think she would agree with mo too.
Laura: If my family lived in the poorest part or district, I think I would
gather everybody together to fight for rights, for more jobs, for education,
for a better life, etc.
Marta: If I had God’s Power, oh my God! I would create a new world without bad
people and free (of) from violence,
prejudice of all types, and without poverty.
Paulo: If I were the city mayor here in Palmeira, I would invest on Security,
Health Care and build more Schools, and pay a better salary for the teachers.
Junior: If English became a second language in Brazil, we would be lost. It

Who designed Brasília?
Brasilia was founded on April 21, 1960. It was planned and developed by Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer in 1956. At the time Rio de Janeiro was the Brazilian Capital, but they moved to Brasilia because it is located in a more central region.

CRITICAL PARAGRAPHS
1. “At that moment,
Luther King Jr. was representing the voices of the world. When he said that he
wanted his four little children to live free and to be treated by their character he was and still is the voice of milions and milions of
parents and children in the world that are treated as slaves. We think that
racism is a serious problem in Brazil too and the fight is no over.” (Junior – Rose – Paulo – Sheila)
Chris: I liked the phrase: “the fight is no over” because many people imagine
that we don’t have more racism in Brazil because of the Laws. This is not true.
Laura: I think the same way and we need to see and treat everybody as humans.
Marta: There are many problems about civil rights but racism is a serious
problem.Things
are changing, I think, or I hope.
